Shinji Asao, Senior Vice President, Global Fiber Manufacturing and Technology
Shinji Asao is Senior Vice President Global Fiber Manufacturing and Technology, responsible for the strategy and planning of all fiber operations serving the multiple industries supplied by the company.
Most recently serving OFS’ parent company Furukawa Electric Co, Ltd. (FEC) as General Manager, Optical Fiber Production in Mie, Japan, Mr. Asao had direct managerial control over the entire fiber manufacturing operation.
Mr. Asao joined FEC in 1990 holding various managerial positions in manufacturing as well as research and development for optical fiber plants within the company including as Technical Manager at the OFS Norcross facility from 2013-2015.
Mr. Asao holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Master’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Kyushu University.
Mr. Asao is based out of the OFS headquarters in Norcross, Georgia.
